Quail eggs are regarded to be one of the best known natural treatment products. Quail eggs have long been used as a surprising healing food, as well as a dietary supplement. Despite the small size of these fertile quail eggs, they are packed full of nutrients and minerals that the human body needs to survive and thrive. While they only weigh between ten and twelve grams apiece, they are full of vital nutrients that are beneficial to our health.
According to Mr. Adedeji Dele, says quail eggs contain 3 or 4 times as much nutritional value as chicken eggs do, and they are 13 per cent protein while chicken eggs are only 11 per cent. They contain nearly three times as much Vitamin B1 as chicken eggs do and you can get double the amounts of Vitamin B2 and Vitamin A by eating quail eggs. Fertile quail eggs are also very rich in calcium and phosphrous, and you can actually obtain 5 times more potassium and iron from quail eggs than from chicken eggs.
He said apart from the fact that the egg helps to reduce high blood pressure and diabetes, it also helps to tackle Alopecia; a condition in which one’s hair follicle is being mistakenly attacked by the immune system. This condition leads to fall out of body hair, either from the head or any part of the body.
“Quail eggs also address the problem of cholesterol storage in the body as it does not have much of it unlike the normal chicken eggs,” he added.
Mr. Adedeji however noted that to eat quail eggs as part of a healthy diet, it is recommended to consume them raw. A lot of the people don’t like the idea but to make the taste more pleasant you can mix it in orange, tomatoes or pineapple natural juice.
Experts in natural treatment methods Dr. Tade Emida of Restoration Hospital claim that quail eggs have positive effects on people with stress problems, hypertension, digestive disturbance, gastric ulcer, liver problems, blood pressure and lipid control, migraine, asthma, anemia, various types of allergies, eczema, heart problems, bronchitis’s illnesses, depression, panic and anxiety illnesses. Quail eggs are also known to stimulate growth, increase sexual appetite, stimulate brain functions which improves intelligence quotient and generally rejuvenates the body.
It was unfortunate that some mischievous people had tried to put down the capabilities of the egg by peddling huge lies, which had equally scared others away from consuming it, he added
He said, “Some of the people said, it causes Cancer, most causes of cancer has been researched by scientists, but to just wake up one day and say quail eggs causes cancer without any scientific backing or proof is a misstatement.”
“Apart from being a good source of protein, quail eggs are rich in iron, vitamin D, B12; and B6. They also contain calcium and unsaturated fatty acids.” He said.
He maintained, “Any nutrient rich food can offer medicinal or nutritional solutions to disease. For example, including quail eggs in the diet can provide solution to iron deficiency as it is rich in iron.”
Mr Adedeji urged Nigerians to make good of the opportunities offered through continuous consumption of quail eggs and also advised that the eggs should be consumed more because of its nutritional values than a curative value due to lack of scientific backings on how medicinal it is.
